Advanced decontamination and neutralization guidance for over 10,000 materials and tradenames, an expanded ordnance database and additional home made explosives precursors (HME) are just some of the new capabilities found in version 21 of Alluviam’s HazMasterG3 CBRNE/HME decision support...
Chemicals a Focus of U.S. Bomb Probe - WSJ
According to a September 22, 2009 Wall Street Journal Report, "Federal investigators probing an alleged bombing plot with suspected ties to al Qaeda are trying to track purchases of chemicals that could be used to make explosives." Other sources indicate that the home made explosive (HME) in question may have been HMTD or other peroxide based explosive, similar to the explosives used in the London subway bombing and the explosives Richard Reid attempted to detonate in his shoe bomb.
In addition to identifying precursor materials for the production of home made explosives, like HMTD, military and civilian technicians deployed with HazMasterG3 can virtually mix these prcursors, incorporate "what-if" scenarios, and instantly model likely HME formulation outcomes, indicating whether or not HMTD, or some other HME could be made from a given set of precursors. Plus, HazMasterG3 tracks more than 32,000 dual-use precursors for the production of explosives, home made explosives, chemical warfare agents, and narcotics, along with providing key situational awareness on their legitimate uses and processes, assuring that operators have comprehensive situational-awareness on the ground as the situation evolves.
